FOIL STAMPING. ADD AN OLD WORLD POP TO YOUR FRAMED TREASURES.
This non-polluting method has diversified since its rise to prominence in the 19th century to include a variety of colors and processes. Foil stamping, is a dry printing method of lithography in which pre-dried ink or foils are transferred to a surface at high temperatures, often gold or silver , but now available in many custom colors as well. Foil stamping can also be combined with embossing to create a more striking 3D effect. Foil stamping machines, also known as hot foil stampers, use heat to transfer metallic foil to a solid surface. Examples of items that are foil stamped include pencils, napkins, matchbooks, photographs, bibles and books. The foil stamp is a permanent process. These machines are popular with businesses that need to brand or mark products, create awards, or add a personalized touch to a frame job with either an employee name, title and/or company logo!
