Our Family of Framers
Steve "Wheat" Belt & Kristin Terk Belt Proprietors
On a long drive back from the Dallas Safari Club show one rainy afternoon in January 2006, Wheat and I pondered the idea of opening a gallery where people could find the highly collectible works of art by some of our favorite wildlife artist including John Banovich, Robert Bateman, Simon Combs, Carl Brenders, and more. We thought about the Texas artist that we treasured like G. Harvey, Bob Wygant, Ragan Gennusa, and others that offered signed limited editions that can bring storied life and beautiful color into any home or office. And that’s what led to our purchase of an existing custom frame shop in north Austin in 2007. Since we lived in Driftwood….it only made sense to eventually build a south location later that same year. Under the new name FASTFRAME & The Prickly Pear Galleries, business has thrived and we are very proud to have developed such an amazing staff over the years. For those many friends and patrons…we would like to say Thanks for supporting our small business over the years and we hope to see you again soon!
Josh Johnson, CPF (Certified Picture Framer)*
Josh is the resident CPF (certified picture framer) at our North location. Having over thirteen years of custom picture framing experience, Josh has developed a great sense of design, a thorough knowledge of conservation framing, and invaluable production skills that only experience can teach. When projects require non-traditional materials or methods, we rely heavily on Josh's expertise and eye for detail.
Teddy Wallace Framer/Designer
Teddy is the primary designer at our North location. With his eight years of custom picture framing experience, Teddy offers a unique and creative approach to designing and choosing materials for your framing project. There are many different ways to frame the paintings, documents, photographs, etc. that come into the shop, and Teddy has a true talent for explaining these options and helping our clients settle on the best choice for their needs. Teddy earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from VCU in 2005, and is also an accomplished artist and musician.
Matthew Marinari Framer/Designer
Matthew Marinari joined the Fastframe team in September of 2012. This former owner of The Mitre Box in Oakhill brings his 32 years of framing experience to our team every day. Whether designing with clients, picture framing or performing art installations, he stays busy for us as he works at both of our store locations. He calls himself our “framing liaison” as he thought “floater framer” didn’t sound dignified enough! Matthew completed a Bachelors in Art from UT in ’97 and can’t remember a time when color, texture and design didn’t fill his head, heart and hands.
Paul Finley Custom Framer/Designer
With more than 8 years framing experience under his belt, Paul Finley decided to move back to Austin earlier this year becoming an important asset to our FastFrame team. His experience includes six years overseeing the construction and production duties of a print-on-demand retail art company in Austin, plus another 3 years providing custom framing, conservation, restoration, and design services to a variety of museums, interior designers, collectors, and businesses throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Denton, Paul has a strong background in design and is ready to assist in helping customers find the perfect combination of custom framing materials.
Carol Lewis Framer/Designer
Carol Lewis started her journey into custom picture framing several years ago in the Bee Caves/Lakeway area. With a love for art and detail, Carol discovered a passion for pairing the best mats and mouldings to provide her customers and their artwork the most unique flare. An art student at ACC, her style and design continue to expand as she cultivates her creative self.
Jackie Lalumandier Custom Framer/Designer
